My favorite Thanksgiving memory…
While studying abroad in college, my family surprised me in Paris. After a few months away from home, I welcomed a little American tradition.

This year we’ll be celebrating…
In Cartagena, Colombia. My husband’s family humors my American ways, flying in a Butterball turkey each year. We uphold traditions but with a twist.

I usually decorate the table with…
I love the juxtaposition of Thanksgiving as a whole. A holiday that is truly overindulgent. On the table I like to mix formal decorations, beautiful flatware and Royal Copenhagen china; however, the meal itself is so informal. A seated dinner, served family-style, on beautiful china — outrageous.

My favorite dish…
Thanksgiving is not complete without stuffing.

This year I’m feeling most thankful for…
My Moda Operandi team. We’ve had a big year and I couldn’t be more thankful for them.

My favorite Thanksgiving memory…
A few years ago, my wife and two children took an overnight train from L.A. to Medford, Oregon. We surprised my godfather in his retirement home — he thought the weather would stop us, or just didn’t believe we would show up — and when we sat down with all his friends he said, “Now let’s all just say a big ‘OM.’” My daughters thought he was a mystic, all these old people were so happy to see us, and it was a joyful day.

This year we’ll be celebrating…
By the beach in Hawaii with some good friends and their two children. I’ve never been to Hawaii, and I love saving something good for middle age.

I usually decorate the table with…
Caviar and clementines.

My favorite dish…
Mashed turnips. You want me serving them, not preparing them, BTW.

This year I’m feeling most thankful for…
My 10th wedding anniversary, which is coming up.

This year we’ll be celebrating…
By going to Austin, Texas, to celebrate with family.

I usually decorate the table with…
Pumpkins and fall leaves.

My favorite dish…
Sweet potato with marshmallow and pumpkin pie! Classic!

This year I’m feeling most thankful for…
Family, friends and good health!

My favorite Thanksgiving memory…
Spending Thanksgiving with my family at my parents’ ranch in Florida. We always celebrated my birthday with my favorite cake from Publix.

This year we’ll be celebrating…
By spending the weekend at our house in Locust Valley with my husband’s parents and brother. It is our new tradition. I start cooking in my PJs the moment I wake up. It is my favorite day of the year!

I usually decorate the table with…
Pumpkins and gourds from the nearby patches. I also use the last of the garden’s dahlias.

My favorite dish…
My mother-in-law’s stuffing made with mushrooms and basil and my famous corn soufflé.

This year I’m feeling most thankful for…
Health and family — always. It’s a great family holiday and I look forward to it every year!
