I might as well say my own! I sell art, incredible Navajo rugs from the ’40s, blankets and a lot of things from Europe. I mix up traditional things from France, where I come from, with the traditional things from here. If you stay traditional, it fits.

Art
Morningstar Gallery for the quality of what they show and the way it’s displayed — antique native pots, baskets, parfleche bags, amazing beading… I also love Shiprock. They have new American Indian artists and vintage pieces.

Eat
Coyote Cafe — sit at the bar and watch them cook. In the summer they open the Mexican cantina on the rooftop. You have a view of the whole town. They have great margaritas.

Spa
El Monte Sagrado in Taos. It’s pretty spectacular. There’s also Ojo Caliente. Very down to earth. You can go from one hot spring to another. In Santa Fe, there’s La Posada — they have traditional kiva fireplaces in the rooms.

Favorite Market Find
I love getting the ristra. It’s a red hanging garland of [drying chili pepper pods]. I put them all over the door of the store. You get fresh tamales too, which are fabulous.

To Do
Tent Rocks is a great hike. When we go on a little drive, we take the “High Road” to Taos, which has all the little villages and churches throughout the mountains.

What exactly is Ma(i)sonry? Maisonry is a living gallery. Everything is available for acquisition—art, furnishings, objets. We represent over 100 artists from blue-chip artists to new discoveries who may not have a pedigree. We also represent designers such as Alexandra von Furstenberg and David Linley.

And then there’s the wine…
We represent about 15 wineries (including our own Blackbird Vineyards). We have three private tasting rooms, communal and individual tables outdoors, plus our landscaped sculpture gardens. And we host private events.

What inspired Ma(i)sonry?
The antiques dealer Axel Vervoordt. What a brilliant man. He invites people to his castle near Antwerp, and everything’s for sale. Then he fills it up again. This is the Napa Valley version of that which integrates the wine component.

What is the quintessential Ma(i)sonry experience?
Napa is making a big shift right now from transactional wine—making to design and aesthetics and limited production, boutique wines. We hope our client walks away with a differentiated experience, and perhaps some wine, artwork or an objet.

A Minnesota-based astronomer sent the Internet into a tizzy earlier this month when he announced that a shift in the Earth’s axis had altered most people’s birth signs. He even added Ophiuchus, a 13th sign, to the zodiac. For help getting our planets in line, we turned to Canyon Ranch’s Master Astrologer Susie Cox, author of Susie’s Sun Signs.

Help! Is a Libra really a Virgo and a Sagittarius really an Ophiuchus now? Don’t worry that your horoscope sign has changed. It hasn’t! As an astrologer, I’ve dealt with this two or three times over the last 15 years. It’s another attempt by astronomers to debunk astrology. 2007 was the last time and 1995 before that, but because of social media, it really went viral this time.

What’s the story then? Ophiuchus is a constellation close to the zodiac. But 90% of astrologers don’t even use the constellations to anchor the zodiac signs. We use what is called the tropical zodiac or seasonal astrology and have for thousands of years. Eastern astrology uses the sidereal zodiac or constellations. In short, you are still the same sign.
