Artist Georgia Marsh pulls the rug from under the tradition of classic floral still-lifes — from the 17th Century Dutch masters to Chinese scroll painting and beyond. Her take plays with that heritage, adopting beautiful blooms as the central subject matter, but she splices them with more modern modes of abstraction: clean, geometric shapes and bold monochrome fields of color. The result, on view at New York’s Senior and Shopmaker Gallery, is luminous and simply enchanting — and one of our obsessions this summer. Learn more about Marsh here.
