Inspiration: The Chelsea Ballet Flat
Introducing our new favorite flat, named after Chelsea, New York’s art scene mecca. We designed the ballet flat we’d want to wear for a full day, checking out different shows and exhibits. Comfort is key and so is style. While we’re on the subject of art — see Richard Avedon’s show at the Gagosian.
Most Wanted: The Tilsim Necklace
Our Tilsim Necklace is a subtle homage to Tory’s father, Buddy, and his love of charms. He once covered an old Zippo lighter with his favorite charms, turning it into a small work of art and instant conversation piece. The tortoise horse heads on our Tilsim are statement makers, too. A versatile addition to your […]
Tory On: Myanmar
Earlier this year, Tory and her boys visited Myanmar — it was one of the most incredible experiences. On the trip, she kept a visual diary that we translated into our Road to Myanmar Pinterest board. Some highlights: seeing the ancient city of Bagan; sweeping the floors at Shwedagon Pagoda (a Buddhist tradition that ensures […]
Resort 2013: Preview
“A recent trip to the Amalfi Coast inspired our Resort 2013 collection — soft whites and seafoam green with shades of pink, purple and blue. We did traditionally rich fabrics in casual, effortless ways: a striped knit with a pair of brocade clam diggers in pale gold and green, a ladylike day dress in a seahorse print or geometric, or a swimsuit with bustier detail. Our jewelry and accessories are laidback, too, from brocade brogues and straw bucket bags with paillettes to shell-and-crochet pendants and glitter walking sandals.” — Tory

Book of the Week: Combines
We came across Combines, a book that looks into Robert Rauschenberg’s life and work from 1954 to 1964. Part sculptor, part painter, he picked up odds and ends from the streets of New York to create more than 70 artistic collages and objets.

Word of Mouth: Outer Space
We’re seeing stars. We loved sculptor Tom Sachs’ imaginary Space Program: Mars show at the Park Avenue Armory (see it before it closes June 17), and then Tory recently met Space Adventures’ Tom Shelley at Fast Company’s Innovation Uncensored conference. Space Adventures makes space flight dreams a reality for non-astronauts.
Word of Mouth: Jimmy Fallon
Not many people can call on Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Justin Timberlake and… Brian Williams to be in their band. But that’s what Jimmy Fallon did for his second album, Blow Your Pants Off, on Warner Bros. Records. On the album, the late night host and SNL alum and musical impression savant (his Mick Jagger still […]

The Savoy, a legendary British hotel, gave us the menu for a proper English tea, while […]
