And Marina Larroudé, Style.com’s Brazilian-born Market Director, plans on celebrating in New York even though she’s in the thick of Resort Fashion Week. We’re seeing stars. We loved sculptor Tom Sachs’ imaginary Space Program: Mars show at the Park Avenue Armory (see it before it closes June 17), and then Tory recently met Space Adventures’ Tom Shelley at Fast Company’s Innovation Uncensored conference. Space Adventures makes space flight dreams a reality for non-astronauts.
Not many people can call on Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Justin Timberlake and… Brian Williams to be in their band. But that’s what Jimmy Fallon did for his second album, Blow Your Pants Off, on Warner Bros. Records. On the album, the late night host and SNL alum and musical impression savant (his Mick Jagger still […]

The Savoy, a legendary British hotel, gave us the menu for a proper English tea, while […]
As everyone starts their migrations to sunny summer getaways, Ed Ruscha’s current exhibit seems especially apropos. He pulled quotes from Jack Kerouac’s On the Road and plastered them on large, colorful canvases, on display at at Miami’s Museum of Contemporary Art.
Here’s to Brazil! To help toast our São Paulo boutique, Mrs. Lilien sent us a recipe for her favorite Brazilian drink — the Cucumber Caipirinha — from her new book Mrs. Lilien’s Cocktail Swatchbook. In her words, “this blended Brazilian delight is refreshingly crisp, boozilicious + outta sight!” Stationery courtesy of Mrs. John L. Strong
We’re channeling our grooviest bossa nova beat this week as we open our very first South American boutique in Sao Paulo. On deck? A little Getz & Gilberto, Ben, Jobin and plenty of rhythm.

We smelled fresh coffee and pecan pie at Rachel Lee Hovnanian’s MUD PIE exhibition, but found out they are all manufactured in a chemist’s lab, not a kitchen. In the interactive exhibition, at Leila Heller Gallery (through June 2), Rachel asks, “What’s real, what’s not?” Everything is beautifully fake, including the flowers — metal floral sculptures. We asked Rachel, photographed here in front of Gates of Narcissus series, about it all….
Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom premieres today at the Cannes Film Festival, and Randall Poster — Wes’ music supervisor (and our contributing music editor) — will be there with him. “Doing the music for Wes’s films is always an adventure and these projects have taken me all over the world,” Randall says. “What distinguishes the soundtracks is how indelible the music is from the storytelling. No one uses music better than Wes.” We hope Wes brings home the Palme d’Or. Here, Randall’s favorite songs from Wes’s movies.
