Summer might be winding down, but the beachside vacations are still going strong. Tory Daily spoke to Molly Guy, Founder and Creative Director of Stone Fox Bride, who detailed a recent trip to her family’s slice of paradise: the Maine coast.

My Maine uniform is…
Cutoffs and Converse — or nothing but a caftan!

My beach beauty essentials…
S.W. Basics shea butter face cream, Heritage rosewater spray, Lakshmi sandalwood oil, Purely Perfect shampoo and hair ties!

Best slice of beach…
Lobster Cove in York. My husband’s family has owned a little sliver of beach there for over 60 years.

Favorite way to spend a day in Maine…
Bodysurfing on Long Sands Beach, followed by saltwater taffy on the boardwalk, pinball at Fun-O-Rama, an outdoor shower at my in-laws’ cottage and an oceanside lobster bake (the recipe has been in my husband’s family for over 50 years: clams, seaweed, lobster, corn on the cob and potatoes cooked over an open fire in Grandpa Herb Moss’ tin buckets from the 1950s).

Followed by…
Post-dinner drive to Brown’s Ice Cream for an epic double scoop of Checkerberry Chip, then a deep sleep squeezed three to a bed (my husband, daughter and me) while listening to the wild hypnotic sound of the midnight waves hitting the rocks rhythmically…

The best kid-friendly spot…
York’s Wild Kingdom

Best beach read…
When in Maine, Stephen King never disappoints.

The tune that best encapsulates a Maine beach day…
More Than a Feeling by Boston

Secret only a Maine local would know…
Fall is the most magical season. The tourists have vanished, weather is dreamy and the wild blueberries are beyond.
