To get the inside scoop on where to go during Fashion Week — once the sun sets — we chat with photographer and man-about-town Douglas Friedman, who shoots for Vanity Fair, Harper’s Bazaar, Architectural Digest and Elle Decor.

Fashion Week in New York is…
A real pain in the ass, but strangely satisfying.

Favorite NYFW memory…
It was the night before 9/11… and it was a party on a pier for Marc Jacobs… and it was one of those nights… one of those perfect, perfect nights.

This season, the best nighttime scene will be…
Netflix and Shun Lee takeout at my place. That or dinner at OMAR’S.

To get your dance on…
If Ladyfag’s name is attached to it or if DJ Mad Marj is spinning, then that is where I’ll be.

For a quiet cocktail night…
I would saddle up to the new Polo Bar on 55th street.

Best after-party spots…
There is this new spot, but I’m not supposed to talk about it.

My NYFW go-to dinner…
It’s boring to say, but I love a burger at The Waverly Inn.

And party I’m most looking forward to…
I’m not sure yet. I’ll let you know what the best party was when it’s all over.

For a NYFW escape…
Get on a plane and fly to Dallas. Change planes and fly to El Paso. Then rent a car and drive three hours southwest until you get to Marfa, Texas. Check into a trailer at El Cosmico and do nothing, do absolutely nothing.
