The London-based blogger of Fashion Me Now — here wearing a Tory tunic — shares some intel on the popular summer destination of Ibiza.
Ibiza is like no other place because…
Ibiza has a split personality; you can go to the southern beaches for white-washed beach clubs, sundowners and partying, or head north for rustic coves, peaceful tavernas and a relaxed vibe.
Packing essentials…
Bikinis, sheer cotton tunics, backless dresses, brightly colored bracelets (buy there) and a straw basket.
First-time visitors must…
Go for dinner at La Paloma. Beautiful garden setting and delicious food and cocktails.
Favorite beach…
Benirras in the North. It’s a bit more rugged than those white, sandy stretches in the south, but it’s incredibly pretty and has such a nice atmosphere. I love the little wooden fishing huts and outlooks dotted around the rocks.
And restaurant…
La Paloma — the fresh pasta dishes and lamb cutlets with sweet potato are amazing.
And place for a cocktail…
Sunset Ashram for ice-cold sundowners, delicious post-beach snacks and a buzzy atmosphere. A great place to end the day or start the night…
The best view can be found at…
Get the best view of the magical island of Es Vedrà (said to be one of the most magnetic points on earth) from the rocky outcrop of Sa Pedrera, also known as Atlantis, on the south of the island. Go for a late-afternoon laze on the rocks and take some beers in time for the sunset.
Best local escape…
A day trip to the neighboring island of Formentera is a must. Go for lunch at Beso Beach or 10.7 and spend the day soaking up the island’s turquoise seas and white sandy beaches.
One secret only a local would know…
Taxis are a nightmare in Ibiza in high season so don’t rely on them entirely and you’ll definitely need a car. If you need a cab in the evening, be prepared for them to hang up on you a few times before you eventually get through!
The song that best encapsulates Ibiza…
All time favorite anthems would have to be Olive’s You’re Not Alone, Rui da Silva’s Touch Me (feat. Cassandra Fox) and Fragma’s Toca’s Miracle. I’m old school and cheesy when it comes to dance music.
