Kate Stirling, left, and the L.A. beach scene
If you were under the impression that movie stars wake up on the morning of a movie premiere and simply blow-dry their hair, put on a dress and head into the night perfectly dolled up… then we’re about to shatter your illusions. In fact, the wizard behind the walk down that yellow brick road of paparazzi flashes is an agent by the name of Kate Stirling. As a director at The Wall Group creative agency, the Angeleno is actually responsible for representing members of what, in our day and age, is often referred to as a glam squad: the hair and makeup artists and stylists who take celebs, like Julia Roberts and Charlize Theron, and get them “Vanity Fair Best-Dressed List” ready. As a result of her day job, her weeks are a whirl of parties, trips to Cannes, beauty launches and fashion shows — not to mention road trips with her besties, a group that includes Naomi Watts and Reese Witherspoon. As a result, we weren’t all that surprised to learn her Memorial Day Weekend plans were simply to stay close to home and hang with her two kids. Here, Stirling tells us what a weekend of R & R in Malibu looks like and shares a few secrets only a local would know…
