SEE

Berlin Cathedral
An architectural highlight and landmark of Berlin’s cityscape. Conveniently located on Museum Island, home to a number of the city’s top museums.

Eduardo Paolozzi Mural
On the corner of Kurfürstenstrasse and Budapester Strasse, you’ll find a mural by pop art pioneer Paolozzi. It was only recently exposed after the building next door — which blocked it from view — was demolished. A smaller replica is on display at Berlische Galerie.

Museum Barberini
A former palace, this museum was founded by software magnet Hasso Plattner in 2017. Exhibitions range from the Old Masters to contemporary art. On view right now: a retrospective of Max Beckmann, one of the country’s most influential 20th Century painters.

Sammlung Boros
An extraordinary collection of contemporary art from the private collection of Christian and Karen Boros, all housed in a former wartime bunker. Expect works by international artists dating from 1990 to the present.

KW Institute for Contemporary Art
Located in a historic building accessed through a leafy courtyard, the institute shows exhibitions by groundbreaking emerging and established artists. Its glass cafe is designed by famed conceptual artist Dan Graham.

The Store x Soho House Berlin
This feels more like stepping into someone’s cool home than a shop, thanks to creative director Alex Eagle, who infuses the space with incredible art and a gallery-like vibe. Extend your visit with a stop by The Store Kitchen for lunch, brunch and a cocktail — or two.

Do you Read Me?!
A cool bookshop with a great edit on visual publications from art to architecture and design.

Kollwitzplatz Market
Open on Saturdays, this farmers’ market offers everything from seasonal fruits and vegetables to flowers, handmade pastas and homemade arts and crafts.

Paper & Tea Store
A temple to all things tea, with sleek museum-like interiors, colorful limited-edition teapots, cups and glasses, and wooden desks displaying teas from around the globe.

EAT

Pauly Saal
Tucked inside a former girls’ school in Mitte that shares real estate with a handful of galleries, this Michelin-starred spot exemplifies Berlin’s polished new restaurant scene.

Golvet
Fine dining with stellar 14th-floor views across Potsdamer Platz and beyond — plus killer cocktails from its 13-metre-long bar.

Nobelhart & Schmutzig
You have to ring a doorbell to gain entry to this hip Michelin-starred restaurant, but once you do you’ll be led to a seat at the long L-shaped counter where diners watch chefs prepare a tour-de-force tasting menu of German cuisine in the open kitchen.

Kaffeebar
People watch while enjoying soy lattes and tiny bites of banana bread. There’s also a good view.
