Long before Emily Dickinson declared that the ‘The heart wants what it wants’ — in her case, to never leave the house — the Chinese tradition of celebrating love has been through Qixi Festival, also known as Chinese Valentine’s Day. Since the Han Dynasty this day of love has been fallen on the 7th day of the 7th Chinese lunar month, so it’s around the corner on August 7th.
In honor of this amorous day — and the launch of Tory Burch on Tmall— we introduce “This Thing Called Love”, our ode to all things love and China, starring Cherrie Ying and Jordan Chan.
“This Thing Called Love” will be seen in pop-up exhibitions, with an exclusive Chinese Valentine’s Day capsule, in various cities across China, including Harbin, Shanghai, Beijing, Xian, Chengdu and Guangzhou.
