Pop-ups come and go faster than ever, but have you ever actually seen one shoot up from the ground like a flower from a Hogwarts spell book? In celebration of the new Tory Burch Pop-Up at Nordstrom in New York, videographer Hudson Brown captured its overnight construction in a stunning time-lapse video made with three cameras over the course of twelve hours. Flashing by in a mere thirteen seconds, the footage shows a team of construction workers and Tory specialists collaborating after-hours to build a gorgeous store within a store. “It was so cool see all the supplies at the outset and then return in the morning and find it completely finished,” Brown recalls. “They did not mess around.”
The capsule-shaped boutique features its own capsule collection, centering on a classic Tory stripe reimagined in a palette of Kelly green, navy, bright yellow, and light pink. The special items, including takes on our Miller sandals and a handful of jewelry pieces, are available on site at the pop-up and at Nordstrom.com. The structure’s design is inspired by Tory’s home in Antigua, which explains the abundant wicker, rattan and neutral colors. The sense of home and hospitality extends to Nordstrom’s Shoe Bar, where Tory’s favorite cocktail, the Southside, will be on offer all month long.
