Spring 2021 pays homage to this ancient craft in subtle and overt ways. The jacquard coat above considers the warp and weft in basketmaking. Or our origami-shaped Sete tote — below — which expands and contracts in hand-woven leather. The skills needed to create beautiful and useful baskets can take many years to master, and the Shakers were experts. It’s what made Hancock Shaker Village in the Berkshires an especially fitting location to shoot the Spring/Summer 2021 presentation.
