I love sailing because…

Sailing for me is a passion. I love the connection with the ocean and the wind, combined with the competitive and team spirit racing offers. No two days are the same. Being at sea also gives you a completely different perspective of the world than being on land. It is a true luxury and privilege to explore corners of the world that not everyone can reach except by boat.

Favorite places to sail…

Northern Sardinia and Formentera are two of my favorite places to cruise with my Swan 90 Solleone. This winter I am looking forward to racing and cruising in the British Virgin Islands, where I’ll take part in the Rolex Swan Cup – Caribbean hosted by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda at their clubhouse on Virgin Gorda.

The perfect day on the water includes…

I love to both cruise and race with my Swan 90 Solleone. The perfect day for me includes racing in a spectacular event like the Rolex Swan Cup in Porto Cervo, followed by a late afternoon swim at anchor off Pevero Beach and a champagne aperitivo onboard with friends.

Onboard, I love to listen to…

Lounge music (Buddha Bar), Jack Johnson, Diana Krall.

I love to drink and eat…

A perfect meal onboard would be risotto nero with grilled vegetables and a fresh fresh tomato salad, followed by a line-caught fish on the grill and pomegranate sorbet to conclude — all accompanied by crisp white wine.

Game I love to play on board…

Occasionally, I enjoy fishing.

One of my favorite coast lines to explore is…

The Tyrrhenian coast which is known for its pristine beaches and crystal blue water, near where I keep Solleone at the Marina di Scarlino. From here, I enjoy exploring the Tuscan Archipelago, which is unique for its natural unspoiled beauty, secluded bays, steep cliffs and quiet fishing villages.
