Capping an extraordinary week at the 2022 Billie Jean King Cup in Glasgow, team Switzerland’s champion players were the first to wear the winner’s jacket designed by Tory and Billie Jean King — and the first professional women athletes to receive a winner’s jacket of any kind.

Inspired by the green jackets awarded at the Masters, Tory wanted to create something equally as iconic for women athletes. The jacket comes in a special shade of “Billie Blue,” a nod to the blue sneakers and tennis dresses Billie Jean wore throughout her career. It also features a BJK Cup patch and a special message from Billie Jean embroidered on the inside lining.

“As Billie Jean says, ‘Pressure is a privilege,’ but this jacket as well is a privilege,” says Swiss player Jil Teichmann. “We are the first ones, and it’s always going to be like that.”

Tory — who was announced as the official outfitter of the Billie Jean King Cup earlier this summer — also designed uniforms for the ballpeople, lineswomen and umpires at this year’s finals. For tennis aficionados wanting to get in on the action, she created a limited-edition Billie Jean King Cup capsule collection: classic pieces reimagined in navy, conifer, and ivory with a special BJK Cup patch. 20% of the proceeds will benefit the Billie Jean King Cup Leadership Initiative, a nonprofit dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
