With 36 runway looks styled for a sense of eclecticism and individuality, the models’ hair and makeup served to create cohesion. “The fashion is very personal,” said hairstylist Guido Palau. “It needed something to ground it.” Palau created a classic look, slightly undone. He began with a center part and a spritz of hairspray, which was raked with the fingers to add a bit of texture. Next, a low ponytail folded into itself and splayed out for just a touch of imperfection. “It’s chic, beautiful and simple,” added Palau.

Makeup artist Diane Kendal created a look in the same vein, to balance the strong character of the ready-to-wear as well as the opulence of the venue, a historical Beaux-Arts-style building. Models were given clean and slightly dewy skin with natural lipstick, explained Kendal, bringing all the focus to the slightly edgy eyes with strong, brushed brows, dark mascara and a straight flick of black eyeliner. “It’s definitely a look,” said Kendal. “But it’s understated.”
