The Founder and Editor of popular beauty blog The Formula shares her insider’s guide to best beauty practices.
The best beauty advice I’ve ever received…
Tom Pecheux just told me that on an off-day we should all just stay in bed, which is so perfectly French.
Favorite way to spray perfume…
I like to layer a scent and give it time to settle. I’ll do a spritz on my body after a shower and them come back to it after I am dressed.
Beauty tips for the frequent flyer…
Avoid salt and moisturize. My favorite in-flight product is Erno Laszlo Hydraphel Skin Supplement — it nourishes and hydrates my skin at the deepest levels. It’s a fast favorite.
My morning beauty routine…
Varies depending on my schedule. I’ve been traveling a lot, so I’ve been using my Clarisonic religiously with a gentle organic cleanser by Estelle & Thild. As the seasons change my skin requires a lot of moisture, so I’ve been alternating between Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion and the new Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Liquid.
If I’m going to a shoot or interview…
I’ll throw on Clarins Instant Concealer and a Lipstick Queen lipstick.
And at night…
I never go to sleep with my makeup on. I wash my face with my Estelle & Thild Neroli cleanser, which removes the majority of my eye makeup, and then I remove any excess mascara or liner with Bioderma and cotton. I use a Darphin eye cream and gently pat it on the area around my eyes.
And then for blemishes…
I’ll apply Darphin Purifying Balm, which is the best spot treatment ever — it´s bottled gold. Then I use Transderma Vitamin A Serum on the rest of my face and neck. It is a gentle and potent dose of retinol that helps fight wrinkles without irritating my skin like most retinol products do. Lastly, I moisturize my lips with EOS, Fresh and Bliss lip balms.
When it comes to beauty, never underestimate the importance of…
Skincare. With glowing skin, everything will look good.
And if a woman does nothing else, she should…
Be confident.
