The stylist, casting director and Tales of Endearment blogger on balance and her Fashion Week musts

My style is…
Feminine.

My personal styling trick…
Proportional balance.

In the first shot I’m wearing…
Tory’s Valerie dress with a vintage nautical shirt over it (just bought in L.A. at my friend’s vintage store), Tory’s Queen Anne’s Lace minaudière and Peggy sunglasses, and Prada wedges. I wanted to make the dress more tomboy and playful by wearing a cute flat and a loose T-shirt.

And in the second…
Tory’s Reyna dress over a vintage navy turtleneck, navy ankle socks and Tory’s Tallulah sandals. I love the color combination of peach and navy. And the shoes are particularly awesome because they were inspired by Sixties styles.

Best style advice I’ve ever received…
Coco Chanel said to always remove the last accessory you put on.

The key to mixing prints is…
Not to match.

Spring trend I’m most excited about…
I don’t adhere to trends, so I could not tell you what’s coming… I prefer timeless pieces or vintage.

And my style tip for the above…
Never wear vintage head-to-toe, always break it up with a great new shoe or chunky sweater.

During Fashion Week, I’ll be wearing…
A lot of oversized coats!

Favorite spot during New York Fashion Week…
I suppose the back of a taxi, because that is where I spend most of my days. I appreciate the few minutes I get to check my email, respond to texts and have some alone time.

My Fashion Week playlist…
Anything that’s fun, upbeat and makes me walk faster. I love artists like Kanye West, Disclosure, Janet Jackson

Between shows…
I go back to my clients’ showrooms to work!

My non-fashion distraction will be…
Nights in front of the TV with someone special…

And I’ll unwind by…
Wouldn’t you like to know…
