How W’s Fashion Market and Accessories Director and Piamita Co-Founder gets through the Fall show season
Fashion Week essentials…
Definitely a good coat. For the winter show season, it’s not about what you’re wearing underneath but how you’re covering up.
In my bag…
A Givenchy pouch that Edward Enninful gave me for Christmas. A cell phone, a cell-phone charger. And my beauty essential, under-eye concealer.
Footwear of choice…
A good pair of boots goes a long way. If you want to wear spring sandals, make sure they’re the ones that still look good with tights.
Here I’m wearing…
Tory’s Margaret sweater and cardigan, Debra skirt and Theresa rosary necklace. And Tory’s Rosemary sweater in the second shot.
Spring trend I’m most excited about…
The range of prints. Céline had all these culture-clash prints. For Piamita, we did these great florals and tile prints I’m excited to wear. And of course, Prada’s prints — sportier and a little bit kookier.
Fashion Week workout…
In New York, I do Punch Fitness with Meredith Melling, Rickie De Sole and Nora Milch from my office. In Milan, I stay at the Principe because it has the best gym and is very close to a park I like to run in. This year in Paris, I am doing the Nike Training Concierge where a trainer is coming to my hotel – hopefully the weather will be nice and I can run outside!
Between Milan and Paris…
I’m taking a tiny break and going to Marrakech.
Online reading for the week…
The New York Times, Women’s Wear Daily, New York Magazine and W.
My non-fashion distraction in New York…
In New York, it’s coming home, watching The Daily Show and grabbing dinner with my husband, who won’t go near any fashion-show events.
And in Milan and Paris…
In Milan, Stefano Tonchi (W Editor-in-Chief) always takes us to the latest cool art exhibit — last season, he took us to see Anselm Kiefer at Hangar Bicocca. There is never any time in Paris because of appointments, so the distraction is running around the city and seeing the amazing buildings, finding quiet time in one of the many churches and exploring furniture shops!
