Pinterest: Tory Tunics
For Tory, it all started with a tunic she found in a Parisian flea market. The silhouette reminded her of something her mother and grandmother had worn in the Sixties and Seventies, and it became the inspiration for one of our first designs. That was 10 years ago and, since then, there have been many more tunic highlights. We compiled them in one place on Pinterest — our tunics, the tastemakers who’ve worn them and, of course, our favorite tunic inspirations.

About Last Night: The Barnes Foundation Dinner
It was a New York art world moment — about 90 miles south, give or take, in the leafy environs of Philadelphia. On Wednesday evening, Tory co-hosted a dinner at the Barnes Foundation, where she’s a new board member, to shine a spotlight on the institution’s storied collections and some newer exhibits, like Yinka Shonibare’s Magic Ladders show. Here’s your exclusive glimpse at the event — which included guests such as Jeff Koons, Vito Schnabel and Simon and Michaela de Pury— and keep reading to learn what Dr. Samantha Boardman (who was a co-host with Salon 94 gallerist Jeanne Greenberg-Rohatyn) has to say about the night and her personal art obsessions…

Playlist: The Grand Budapest Hotel
Wes Anderson’s latest film The Grand Budapest Hotel opens today. Starring Ralph Fiennes and F. Murray Abraham (among many others), it’s a lush visual escape to the fictional Eastern European nation of Zubrowka. There are stolen paintings, a mustachioed concierge, pink-packaged pastries, an octogenarian countess (played by, yes, Tilda Swinton), bobsleds, butlers, inmates… The soundtrack is no less richly layered and captivating. Listen to it now on Spotify and keep reading to get the playlist and discover the backstory behind it all.
10 Minutes with an Entrepreneur: Fiona Kotur
Congrats to Fiona Kotur! You know her for her chic clutches and minaudières, but the Hong Kong expat just launched a collection of shoes — wonderfully exotic and fantastical shoes inspired by hanging gardens and the gypset life. Here wearing Tory’s Vanessa jacket, Fiona talks about first shoe loves and shares steps every entrepreneur should take.
Tory Entertains: The Swizzle
The Swizzle is an old-fashioned drink that’s beloved by Tory’s parents and brothers. It’s also the name of one of our new lip colors, a reddened plum with a delicate sheen. Here, the recipe for the classic — which comes not shaken or stirred, but swizzled with a wooden swizzle stick — straight from the home of the rum swizzle, Bermuda’s The Swizzle Inn.
Video: 12 Distinctive Shades
From pinky nude to scarlet, shimmery plum to pink, our new lip colors span a spectrum a dozen strong. Here, filmmaker Robert Nethery goes in for a close-up. Make one your signature — or collect them all.
Behind the Names: The Lip Colors
What’s in a name? Plenty, if we’re talking about our new Lip Color Collection. Keep reading to discover the backstories behind each and every shade, from Pas du Tout to Swizzle, and how the dots connect back to Tory’s personal history.

It’s Carnaval! Here, Brazil native Carlos Souza — who’s Creative Director of the Most Wanted Design jewelry line — tells us what the splashy, no-holds-barred festival is like in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
To Do: Alex Katz at Thaddaeus Ropac
Alex Katz’s new exhibit in Paris opens today at Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac’s outpost in Pantin, in the city’s northeast quarters. It’s a deep dive into his oeuvre in portraiture, with some hundred works dating back 45 years — from his outsize paintings to his aluminum cutouts, iconic works to the lesser-known sketches. For those in the midst (and madness) of Paris Fashion Week, the exhibit offers the perfect cultural escape. Not in the City of Light? You can still soak in the Brooklyn artist’s intense colors and deceptively reductive style; he currently has a show at Mattatuck Museum in Connecticut and another opening at London’s Timothy Taylor Gallery in three weeks.

Entrepreneur: Out of Order’s Dorian Grinspan
Everyone stateside is buzzing about the Oscars, but over in Paris, the spotlight is very much on Paris Fashion Week. Plus, he shares his advice about the startup life.
Best Dressed: 1stdibs’ Mollie Ruprecht

Survival Guide: Tracy Brennan’s Oscar Weekend
Hollywood’s biggest weekend is here. How do the pros make sure that final — and most important — stretch of the Awards Season marathon goes off without a hitch? CAA power agent Tracy Brennan, here wearing Tory’s Callan dress, Courtlyn drop earrings and Courtlyn cuff, clues us in.
Word of Mouth: The Great Beauty
Even though we all love American Hustle, Gravity and Wolf of Wall Street, the Oscar film that has us buzzing the most is Best Foreign Language Film nominee The Great Beauty — which lives up to its name as one of the most gorgeous films of the year. The fashion, the parties, the breathtaking Roman backdrop… It all swirls around aging bon vivant Jep, a journalist who wrote a best-seller 40 years ago and hasn’t found much success since. Instead, he throws lavish Gatsby-style bashes for the city’s elite. But just like with Jay Gatsby, the opulence isn’t quite enough…
Tory’s Playlist: Pool Party
Here’s an after-swim playlist for those sublime chaise moments. Dream-while-you-dry moments. Terry-cloth rhapsodies. Poolside panacea…
Hear it now on Spotify.

Meet the Artist: Roger Fritz
As an actor and director, Munich-based Roger Fritz has worked with everyone from film legends Rainer Werner Fassbinder to Luchino Visconti. When it comes to his photography, he’s aimed his lens at subjects no less stellar, including The Beatles, Paul Bowles and Jeanne Moreau. Recently, though, the 77 year old has been chasing after the abstract, including the above image from his pool series. As we celebrate Spring 2014’s inspiration in La Piscine, we talk to the artist about these later works — plus, he shares his own anecdote about our lady of the moment, Romy Schneider.
Getaway: Aimee Song’s Aruba
Clear blue water, ocean breezes, a sense of the unknown… no wonder interior designer and Song of Style blogger Aimee Song has been escaping to Aruba for years. Here, wearing Tory’s Calathea surf shirt and Calathea bottom, she shares her island secrets — style and otherwise.
Reva On: Leopard Prints & Pool Escapes
Our new leopard-print swim collection takes its cue from Tory’s longtime inspiration: her mother, Reva. In fact, the shot of Reva on the right — vacationing in Havana in the Fifties — was the original starting point. Here, we chat one-on-one with her about the photo’s backstory and all things poolside leisure.
Kyle DeWoody On: Art for Kids & ProjectArt
You could say involvement in the arts was a bit of a date with destiny for Kyle DeWoody — she’s the daughter of art collector Beth Rudin DeWoody and painter James DeWoody. Now, in addition to being Creative Director and Co-Founder of online art-design shop Grey Area, she’s also a board member of ProjectArt, which supports arts programming for New York City youth and is holding its Benefit Gala on Thursday. Here, she talks to us about the cause and shares tips on how to get your own kids interested in the arts…
